{ audio production }

As an independent music producer & recording engineer I pride myself on my ability to make great sounding recordings in any environment and on virtually any budget. I’ve worked in studios, living rooms, warehouses and performance venues making recordings that deliver concise musical and sonic character.

I approach producing music through collaboration with artists to establish and realize creative goals unique to each project. This encompasses song structure & style, sonic character, arrangements & instrumentation as well as image and marketing concerns.

My philosophy on recording & mixing is that great sounds come primarily from instruments and performances that have great character behind a microphone. Natural acoustics and spatial sound qualities are next in order of importance and are equally as important as microphone placement and equipment.

While big studios are fantastic in many ways, they are a luxury that many indie musicians simply can’t afford. Recording in the real world can be greatly satisfying and merely requires a creative ear and an adaptable approach. –Jeff Oehler, Beehive Productions
