David Wax Museum- Live at BluStage Concert Series 2011: The David Wax Museum performed here as a duo blending traditional Mexican and American Folk music influences into their own unique blend. Exploding on to the national scene this year, they've been called "frenetic and infectious" by NPR.
Annabelle Chvostek - Live at BluStage Concert Series 2010: Annabelle Chvostek (former member of the Wailin' Jennys) is a Modern-Folk, “left-of-center” singer/songwriter whose music has been described as “straddling the divide between mainstream roots and acoustic indie pop.”
Natalia Zukerman & Andy Friedman - Live at BluStage Concert Series 2010: Natalia Zukerman is a more than up-and-coming Alt-Folk Singer/Songwriter & Guitarist from New York City. Her music is strong and passionate in keeping with other rogue greats like Rickie Lee Jones, Joni Mitchell & Ani Difranco. She shared the stage in a round robin fashion with Andy Friedman – described in reviews as a “hard scrabble singer/songwriter” and an “erudite redneck.”
YIM YAMES @ Newport Folk Festival 2010, mixed & Broadcast Live: Yim Yames (or Jim James) is famous as the lead singer, guitarist and primary songwriter for the band My Morning Jacket. He performed solo at the festival but was accompanied in part by cellist Ben Solee and drummer Daniel Martin Moore.
PRESERVATION HALL JAZZ BAND @ Newport Folk Festival 2010, mixed & Broadcast Live: The Preservation Hall Jazz Band is known internationally as “America’s best traditional jazz band.” The group takes its name from the legendary Preservation Hall in New Orleans’ French Quarter and their goal is to “nurture and perpetuate the art form of New Orleans jazz.”
CORY CHISEL & THE WANDERING SONS @ Newport Folk Festival 2010, mixed & Broadcast Live: Corey Chisel & the Wandering Sons are an Americana/Folk-Rock band from Wisconsin who’ve been climbing the ladder of national success in recent years.
PUNCH BROTHERS @ Newport Folk Festival 2010, mixed & Broadcast Live: The Punch Brothers are an Alt-Folk/Bluegrass quintet founded by singer/songwriter & mandolin player Chris Thiele. These performances were some of the most creative and inspiring of the entire festival.
