CROSSING BORDERS: FOLK ALLIANCE 2019
Captured in February during the 2019 Folk Alliance International Conference in Montréal, Quebec. The theme for the set was 'Crossing Borders' with a goal to include artists from as many different cultural identities and places as possible. Here we present a unique mixture of folk and roots music through the lens of Canadian, Abenaki, Australian, Sephardi Jew, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Irish, Tuvan, and American experience all captured live in a hotel room in Montréal. Featured video at left is Lily Henley performing in Sephardic Ladino.
Taarka—the Lyons, Colorado husband-and-wife team of David Pelta-Tiller (mandolin, tenor guitar, vocals) and Enion Pelta-Tiller (five-string violin, vocals)—were once described as “a collision between Django Reinhardt and David Grisman.”
This session was captured live in Wadhams, New York at the Dogwood Bread Company in January, 2019 and features Max Johnson on upright bass.

RADIO JAROCHO & ZENEN ZEFFERINO
Radio Jarocho are a group of Mexican-Americans from New York City that perform son jarocho music, the rowdy, upbeat, and at times melancholic music of the countryside of Veracruz, Mexico. They've been mixing it with the sounds of New York’s urban life for over ten years. When we filmed these, they had recently joined forces with son jarocho legend Zenen Zeferino from Veracuz. This set was captured at the Recovery Lounge in Upper Jay, NY - July, 2018. The link below features 3 videos from this set as well as an earlier set captured at the HOOT Festival, January, 2018.
BARREL ROOM SESSIONS AT VINEGRASS FEST
Filmed during the Vinegrass Music Festival at the beautiful Truro Vineyards south of Provincetown, Massachusetts. We captured these bands in the big room filled floor-to-ceiling with oak barrels full of wine and spirits, hence the name "Barrel Room Sessions."
